I have a small pottery studio in Barneycraig Mineshop in Carrshield, a historic building from the days of lead mining which has now been renovated and brought back to life. I find it really inspiring to work in such a beautiful place, with so much history and character, and the surrounding moorland is clearly reflected in my work. I like to make useful pots for every day use, but each piece is individual and unique and I hope it captures something of my love for this dramatic landscape.

I have recently been developing ways to use local rocks and minerals to create the glazes and slips to decorate my work, and really enjoy the subtle colours and textures they can add.
