Our History

Allendale Creative Artists began as a co-operative of professional artists and small businesses. By 2006 they inhabited a lively rural hub in Allendale Market Square, which then quickly grew into an award-winning social enterprise and community interest company The Allendale Forge Studios. Our facilities include:

  • Professional working studios

  • Office space

  • Gallery

  • Gift shop

  • Workshops

  • Conferencing facilities

  • Business support

  • Volunteering opportunities

  • Hot desking

In 2010, our volunteer directors had the Allendale Forge Studios building constructed with grants secured alongside a loan. Now, the Forge is a hub for artists, the local community and visitors to enjoy.  A not-for-profit organization, we continue to work with volunteers, maintaining a valuable resource and community hub, unique within the beautiful setting of the North Pennines.

We’re always looking for people to join us and information on our services can be found in the facilities section.
