Sheila Smith
I paint mainly in oil. I love the smell and how it moves on the canvas. My inspiration comes from a variety of sources and, currently, I am concentrating on figurative and floral studies. Painting and drawing people has always been my first love but the bright and colourful tulips, which herald the coming of spring in my garden, are too beautiful to ignore.
I am attracted to bright colours, which is evident in my work. I tend to vary my subjects and my approach to retain the excitement I feel when trying out something new.
