Allendale Creative Artists (ACA) CIC is committed to young people. The ACA CIC set up an exciting project in 2006 offering activities suitable for students from year 5 to 25 years old that include six schemes of structured workshops designed to feed into a network of applicants, direct from local schools and the community.
Project 1 – ‘Come Out of Your Shell’ – art and craft working within schools.
Project 2 – ‘Make It and Sell It in Allendale’ – art made by young people in the community, showcased and sold through the dedicated youth gallery.
Will Nicholls and Dan Spratt are two examples of how ‘Make It and Sell It in Allendale’ has helped both these young individuals develop their skills and experience.
Project 3 – Fragile Learning – Students who cannot attend school for a variety of reasons are tutored at Allendale Forge Studios.
Project 4 – Work Experience – working in the café and gallery – book keeping, customer care, health & safety, health & hygiene.
Project 5 – MYLOOP – Multi-media, sound, film, design – ACA CIC will support students to run MYLOOP, showing young people they can achieve anything with the right resources and support.
Project 6 – The Allendale Forge Studios Scholarship Programme – a pilot project providing two young entrepreneurial businesses with free studio space and business support for one year.
Our current beneficiaries of this programme are Fire Fly Forest and Card Couture.
