Deborah Parkin – Fine Art & Portrait Photographer
Deborah’s work is about capturing emotions. It is drawn upon and inspired by her past memories and her family (particularly her children). She has a fascination with family photography and family histories, not just her own but other peoples too. You will often find her searching out photographers who photograph family life and childhood in particular.
Although she likes all photographic mediums her preferred camera at the moment is a 5×4 large format camera using Fuji’s instant black white film. She likes this camera as it slows her down and makes her connect with her subject more deeply. Her latest photographic journey is working with wet-plate collodion, under the guidance of Carl Radford. She also likes to shoot medium format. Whatever the photographic medium her aim is to make an image that engages the viewer emotionally. To read more about her and her work please visit her blog. You can also follow her on Facebook and Twitter
She has a gallery of her work in in her studio at The Allendale Forge Studios.
