Joyce Charlton MCSP. Grad Dip Phys
Chartered Physiotherapist
Joyce Charlton is a Chartered Physiotherapist (in private practice for 20 years) and also member of the McTimoney Corley Spinal Therapists Association. (This uses the principles of skeletal alignment and encompasses the concept of “putting things back into place”). As well as offering treatment for musculoskeletal problems she offers exercise therapy in the form of onsite personal training and local classes. See the website for more information and specific case histories.
Musculoskeletal problems treated at the clinic include all types of joint problems such as shoulder pain/stiffness, sprained ankles, tennis elbow, hand injuries, back and neck problems, whiplash injuries, sports injuries, repetitive strain, headaches etc, priced at competitive rates. Techniques are usually gentle working on muscles and joints to mobilise and adjust structures. Sometimes a cracking sound is elicited during treatment but this is not essential to achieve the end result.
Joyce believes in training muscles to hold things in place for a more permanent solution to pains, instead of having to repeatedly seek treatment on a regular basis. She aims to teach you how to maintain your own body to minimise the risk of strains occurring. If structures are held in their correct alignment the risk of injury becomes less and muscles are used more efficiently.
The exercises aim to strengthen muscles, promote core stability, improve posture and increase flexibility and develop good movement patterns. They also help develop body awareness to enable to you gain control and activate the various muscle groups correctly.
All treatment and classes are undertaken by Joyce Charlton. Ring or email for more information or to make an appointment.
