Pat Ashton Smith – Textiles and Embroidery
Pat lives and works in Allendale and finds inspiration for her art in the natural beauty surrounding her.
She uses a range of techniques including hand and machine embroidery, (together with paint, print and mixed media), patchwork and quilting, and needlefelting.
Pat’s work has been exhibited in both local and national exhibitions with the Embroiderers’ Guild and the Quilters’ Guild, most recently at the ‘Summer in the Park’ exhibition in Nottinghamshire and at Belsay Hall and Beamish Museum.
Pat is a qualified adult tutor, with fifteen years experience of teaching. She offers:
- Regular textile workshops at Allendale Forge Studios.
- She is available to give talks and workshops on embroidery and textiles for your group/venue.
- Undertake commissions – individually designed, hand stitched gifts and original artwork from small embroideries or dolls, perhaps to mark a special occasion, to full size quilts (wonderful wedding gifts!)
- You can follow Pat on Facebook and Twitter and her blog.
